Hubert Sumlin records with Jones
at Sun Studio in Memphis

Hubert Sumlin (77), a legendary blues guitarist who worked
with Howlin' Wolf for over 20 years and was named in the
100 Greatest Guitarists of all time by Rolling Stone Magazine
has just recorded with Canadian blues artist, JW-Jones (28) at Sun Studios in Memphis, TN.
A-list rhythm section Richard Innes and Larry Taylor (who appear on 2008's 'Bluelisted') provided a groovin' foundation at the session.  Sun is arguably the most important recording
studio in history - the birthplace of rock and roll (Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, etc.)

 Seymour Duncan and Dean Markley

JW-Jones now proudly endorses Seymour Duncan pickups
  and Dean Markley Strings.

Finalist for International Songwriting Competition

"Looking the World Straight in the Eye" from the new CD "Bluelisted" has been chosen as a finalist out of 15,500 entries for the International Songwriting Competition. The winner will be chosen by a panel of judges including James Cotton, Tom Waits, Rob Thomas, Jerry Lee Lewis, and John Mayall to name a few.

Nominated for 2 Maple Blues Awards

Deservingly so, both awards (Electric Artist and Guitarist of the Year) went to the late great Jeff Healey.  An honour to be in both categories! Jones has now been nominated for 10 of these prestigious national awards, and won Electric Artist of the Year in 2005.
